Dukes Of Hazzard 1969 Dodge Charger Star Car Sold For $9,900,500 On eBay

The most famous Star Car in television history is the orange 1969 Dodge Charger R/T called the General Lee. This car was the star of the mid-to-late 1970s television show called the Dukes of Hazzard and was part of America’s redneck culture that featured fast cars, Daisy Duke, moonshine, hicks, and dense lawmen.

On Friday May 4, 2007 at 10:02 AM a recent version of this 1969 Dodge Charger R/T sold on eBay Motors (eBay auction item 250108256198) for $9,900,500.00. That’s right folks, a cool 10 million dollars.

This car did not appear in any of the TV shows but did appear in a movie called “The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood” released in May 2000. John Schneider described the title as “Dukes Go To Hollywood” in the eBay listing. Also in the eBay listed was an image that indicated the General Lee was from John Schneider’s personal collection and was built in December 1997 and was #4 of 4. Other images of the General Lee can also be seen in the eBay listing. The most important feature of this car is that under the hood are the autographs of all the living original cast members and crew that were on the TV show.

Most of us don’t have 10 mil to spend on a Dukes of Hazzard 1969 Dodge Charger R/T but you can make your classic look and sound like one.

The original General Lee’s landing gear were American Racing Vector SE Series 47 rims. American Racing has again introduced the classic vintage Vector SE Series 47 wheels. These rims had the style and appeal that brings back memories of the 1970s and the 01 General Lee. What could be more appropriate for your classic car than a set of American Racing Vector SE Series 47 rims.

The General Lee would not have been complete without its horn. The horn plays “Way Down South in the Land of Cotton” and is now known as the Dukes of Hazzard car horn. So announce your arrival or departure boldly with this popular salute to the south!
