The Academies \u2014 based in Kingscourt, Navan, County Meath and Dublin \u2014 run free training courses to upskill and educate all construction industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees include trade professionals, merchant staff, supply chain professionals, installers, specification engineers and members of the public. All are trained to use Isover products and systems according to current construction techniques and standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The need to make buildings compliant to <br>airtightness has become an increasing <br>requirement of building regulations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workshop environment for practical experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jason Horrex, Manager of the Technical Academies, describes the courses as a \u2018value-added service\u2019 from Saint-Gobain, which owns Isover, a provider of insulation solutions. \u201cThe learning we provide has been specifically designed to help attendees comply with the relevant regulations and give them the confidence to use our products to achieve the best building performance,\u201d he says. \u201cUltimately, if we equip them with techniques and tricks, they\u2019ll use our materials correctly and more efficiently.\u201d It\u2019s a win-win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One example is a popular course on airtightness, which demonstrates the most effective ways to ensure there are no unintended and draughty gaps in a building envelope. \u201cThe need to make buildings compliant to airtightness has become an increasing requirement of building regulations,\u201d says Horrex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe show how to use membranes, tapes and sealants for that purpose, and that care needs to be taken in the detailing \u2014 such as sealing reveals around windows and doors or areas where cables or pipes run through walls.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"healt-1676010692\"><div class=\"healt-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><div id=\"healt-419279913\" style=\"margin-top: 30px;margin-bottom: 30px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saint-gobain.com\/en\/corporate-responsibility\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Isover 3 desk\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.eu-north-1.amazonaws.com\/cdn-site.mediaplanet.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/94\/2023\/12\/07210024\/Isover-3-desk.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"750\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Flexible and adaptable learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saint-gobain.com\/en\/corporate-responsibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remote learning<\/a>, Horrex and his team offer a selection of e-learning webinars lasting between 60\u201390 minutes.
